Fire Sleeve Hook & Loop – Flexible Heat Resistant Insulation

In an ideal world, the exceptional heat resistant insulation of Fire Sleeve from Sleeve It would always be fitted at source, either on machinery during manufacture, or on pipework, wiring, ducts and hoses during equipment installation. This would allow the flexible E glass knitted sleeves, coated in high grade silicone elastomer rubber, to be slid along the length of the tube to deliver end to end protection.

Sleeve It even offers Fire Sleeve cut to length so you can order exactly the size you need for each machine or installation, with no need for time consuming cutting and no costly waste.

However, sometimes you need to fit heat resistant insulation later in the process, for example, when you need to comply with changing legislation and safety standards for your industry or your equipment. Retrofitting may also be required when your heat resistant insulation, or the pipes and wires beneath it, get damaged, and a short length needs replacing in situ. In these cases, it may not be economical to replace the whole length of heat resistant insulation, or it may not even be possible to disconnect the existing pipework in order to carry out the work.

That’s why Sleeve It created Fire Sleeve Hook & Loop – the most practical and flexible way to install, repair and retrofit heat resistant insulation to almost any pipes or wiring in almost any location or situation.

Complete convenience

Fire Sleeve Hook & Loop does exactly what it says on the tin. Instead of having a continuous, tube-like sleeve, the heat resistant insulation is open along one side. That means it can be slipped or clipped onto any existing pipes or wires without the need to disconnect one end from the machine or installation. It can be used along the full length of cables and pipes for new fittings, or it can be cut to size to deliver a highly localised repair.

Once in place, you simply complete the circle by pressing together the two sides of the hook and loop fastening. The resulting heat resistant insulation performs exactly the same as standard, full-tube Fire Sleeve, protecting pipes and wires in constant operating temperatures of up to 260°C and resisting molten splash up to 1,200°C.

From retrofitting to refurbishments

Our customers have used Hook & Loop Fire Sleeve in all kinds of situations down the years, ranging from essential repairs to safety upgrades. Quick and convenient, Hook & Loop Fire Sleeves save both time and money without ever compromising on quality, making them the heat resistant insulation of choice for facilities managers, maintenance engineers and mobile repair teams nationwide.

Naturally, Fire Sleeve Hook & Loop is available in the same six colours as standard Fire Sleeve, as well as your original custom colours, allowing for seamless repairs and additions to existing Fire Sleeve installations.

This innovative insulation can even be used to bring heritage machinery up to modern standards. By using Hook & Loop Fire Sleeve, you can add contemporary safety to classic engineering, such as vintage cars, steam railway engines and historic ships, without having to disconnect or dismantle any pipework in the process. This helps to preserve the authenticity of the asset while still protecting the operators and the general public.
